Smelly Tile Floors:
I was recently asked by one of my clients a not so funny question, "Why are my tile floors smelly"? After inspecting and testing her tile and grout floors I came to the conclusion that she was right - her floors were not only dirty but they had a real smell to them. I probed her further to better understand her situation and they like to fry their food in cooking oil. Fish, chicken, beef, you name it, they liked to fry it. The vent over the oven was impacted with grease.
I explained to my client that every time she cooked something on the stove, wether she fried it, baked it, or micro waved it she was sending food vapours up into the atmosphere of her home and those food vapours were depositing into her tile and grout lines. Because grout is porous and her porcelain tile had a stone like look to it, with ridges, it was the perfect place for the food vapours to become trapped and co-mingle with other food particles. Odor causing bacteria was in her tile and on her floor consuming the food particulates, pooping on the floor, and dieing, hence the smell.
Because of the cleaning process that we provide we literally remove all odor causing bacteria from the tile and grout lines. The floor is so clean that you can literally eat off of it. We like to use a one - two punch when dealing with bacteria. In our chemicals we have included a propriety disinfectant that will not only kill bacteria but viruses and pathogens as well. Also because we clean with water temperatures greater than 200 degrees the extreme hot water will kill off the bacteria. Science has already proven that bacteria will die at around 140 degrees. When we complete the cleaning process the floor will not only look and feel clean it will smell clean too! If you are having this problem please give us a call for a FREE in home inspection.
